The Overland 2018: Getting back to our roots.

The Overland 2018

The Overland is all about soul.  We found at our previous venue that things were becoming a little institutionalized, which is inevitable when events grow larger.  We decided to go in the opposite direction.  500 riders max at a truly rural, home-grown venue (my house).   Be one of the lucky riders to experience our amazing new course with now eight Pavé Sectors, eye-popping vistas, two covered bridges and 6,000 feet of climbing.  When you finish the race, come to the venue area and claim your free first beer, take a dip in the pool and grab yourself some chow from our awesome farm-table food trucks. Your biggest problem will be you won't want to go home!

Particulars of Note

  • On Saturday, August 25th, join our featured pros, Tim Johnson and Ansel Dickey, for a casually-paced 1-1.5 hour no-drop instructional ride covering pavé sections 1 and 2!  The ride will leave at 2 pm from the race venue at 419 Bailey’s Mills Road, Reading, VT.  After the ride, stick around the race venue for some craft beers and our farm table pizza truck and number pickup!  Cannondale will buy your first beer!
  • The purpose of this race is to promote the wonderful world of overland adventure riding and to benefit the Reading/West Windsor Food Shelf, an integral organization in the event’s host town of Reading.  Experience what it’s like to ride your bike on roads that are not only incredibly beautiful but are, most importantly, largely free of hostile car traffic.   Throw in some ancient unmaintained roads for technical challenge and the real adventure begins!
  • Riders will be treated to two awesome sag stops, the first at 20 miles just before the Hors Categorie Oude Kwaremont Climb sponsored by Dark Horse RealtyUntapped and Worthy Kitchen, and the second at 35 miles at the Food Shelf itself sponsored by Rasputitsa Spring Classic!

Remember that with all VO events, if you can’t make it, you may assign your registration to whomever you like.  Simply log back into your BikeReg account and change the rider information to your replacement before registration closes prior to the event.  No need to even contact the promoter!
