Overview:

This offering was created to provide women, non-binary, and trans riders with the opportunity to make friends in the cycling community and to help participants build confidence and skills to be ready for race weekend.

  • Is this your first gravel event? Are you new to the cycling community?

  • Are you registered for the Vermont Overland for the first time?

  • Is riding ‘Vermont pave’ exciting but intimidating?

  • Are you wondering who you’ll line up next to on the morning of the race?

  • Curious about how to pace your effort on race day?

The Vermont Overland Women’s Course allows participants to preview the updated 2023 course, learn strategies from experienced riders at the front, middle, and back of the pack, and build an inclusive and welcoming community of riders.

The course will include three video modules sent out in advance of the live webinar and break-out groups after the session for those interested in riding with a pacer on race day. For the first time, The Vermont Overland will offer three race day pace-groups to help riders reach their finish-time goals. Sign up for the 2023 course via the member area below!

What’s Included?

  • 3 comprehensive informational video modules about the course/terrain, bike setup, fueling & nutrition.

  • Live webinar on August 6th with a host of gravel experts

  • Race-day pace groups

By participating, you are joining a community that values:

  • Our common attitudes toward leaving a place better than we find it, fostering camaraderie, positively stoked energy, and the vital role that health and the beautiful outdoors play in all our lives no doubt align.

  • Our common interests in making events like this more accessible to women, supporting the next generation of youth cyclists, finding the next gnarly class-4 road, and growing the sport in a sustainable way as a whole remain strong.

  • And our common goals, to make events like this sustainable for the long haul, by supporting charities, towns, and organizations. This is the standard that allows us to move forward with joy and goodwill.

Who is eligible?

Everyone is welcome. While this course is designed for women and participants who use the term ‘woman’ to include cis, trans, non-binary, or any significantly female-identified person, we welcome all participants and new riders to join!
